East Hartford School of Rock to Open in January

We're excited to announce the opening of the East Hartford School of Rock in early January. This sister location to our successful West Hartford school will service Hartford, East Hartford, Glastonbury, Rocky Hill, South Windsor, Wethersfield, Marlborough, Manchester, and nearby towns. Registration is open now for Performance Programs including Rock 101 and Rookies starting on January 2nd, and Summer music camps. We're offering a pre-opening special of up to a 30% discount on the first month's tuition for these programs. We're also offering a 30% discount on all 2023 Summer music camps. School of Rock programs are designed for children from ages 5 to 18 across all levels of experience, and we have an Adult Program. These performance-oriented programs  offer experiences beyond traditional lessons, and our East Hartford student bands will be performing in area venues just as West Hartford students have done over the past two years at great locations such as Parkville Market, Infinity Theater, Gastropark, and New Park Brewing.

In addition to our standard Rookies and Rock 101 programs, we've announced the following four introductory Performance Programs.

    ‘90s Rock
The ‘90s Rock show is arguably one of the most popular School of Rock shows in our collection.  Packed with a plethora of what are now known as ‘classic rock’ songs, the stylistic spectrum of this show is wide enough to excite any student rocker!  Hard Rock, Singer/Songwriter, Alternative and Indie encompass this decade of music that many parents grew up on! The ‘90s Rock show will stretch any students’ musical progress while delighting and creating nostalgia for their parents!

    British Invasion
The mid-1960s cultural phenomenon known as “The British Invasion” refers to the sudden and ubiquitous popularity of British rock and roll among the American youth of the time. The catalog of music created by these artists - including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Kinks among others - propelled Rock & Roll music to the mainstream of cultural relevance where it remains to this day. British Invasion is a prime show choice for all instruments and experience levels to learn the foundations of Rock music, and especially perfect for emerging players who are looking to take the next step in widening their musical repertoire.

    Pop Legends
Before there was Rock and Roll, there was Pop. Short for Popular, Pop music was whatever was popular at that moment.  The Pop Legends show will celebrate the impact that acclaimed artists have made on the music industry.  It will encompass a vast timeline of Pop Music ranging from the 60s through today, including artists such as Carol King, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Stevie Nicks, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Adele and many more. This show is a great challenge for “Rock” guitar players who want to work on new chord shapes and voicings.

    AC/DC vs. KISS
Few rock bands have had the longevity and commercial success of AC/DC. After almost 50 years, AC/DC continues to be a favorite band for generations of fans. KISS rose to prominence in the 1970s with a string of hard rock hits and live shows that generated a thrilling visual experience, becoming one of the biggest-selling bands in rock history. This is a perfect show for budding lead guitarists and vocalists, and also provides valuable lessons for bassists and drummers on playing tight grooves in the service of the song.

Our show offerings will expand each season as you can see in the recently announced extensive West Hartford offerings.
