DESCRIPTION:As the Chamber's most popular event\, Business After Hours consistently attracts over 75 members each month. All Business After Hours are held from 5-7 pm. At 6:00 pm there is a short informal meeting where the host has an opportunity to speak about their business\, new members are introduced and door prizes are drawn. Happy hour style beverages and appetizers are served.\nLa Piastra was born in 2004 as a part-time catering service when the owner\, Lauren Siegel\, realized that she could turn her passion for cooking into a career. For two years\, she learned the ropes through an apprenticeship with a master chef and numerous hobby courses offered at local culinary schools and restaurants. Seeing a need to provide fresh\, quality meals to go\, in 2006 she created and distributed a line of products under the La Piastra brand through a supermarket. The retail location in Cromwell opened its doors in 2008 to showcase the hundreds of different entrees and sides\, soups\, sauces and salads created by Lauren and her team of chefs.\n\n\n\nSpecial Event Offering: 10% off a purchase of $20 or more to all Chamber member (from 5-7pm that evening)\n\n\n\nLa Piastra\, LLC are celebrating 11 years in business and they have a special guest\, Sachiyo Langlois\, joining their Business After Hours celebration! Sachiyo is a Therapeutic and Barefoot Bodywork Licensed Massage Therapist. She will be offering chair massages to Business After Hours guests. Snack\, Drink and Chillax!
