SUMMARY:The Art of Recovery - Call for Artists
DESCRIPTION:The Galleries @ WORK_SPACE in Manchester\, CT is accepting up to five submissions of artwork by professional and emerging artists in New England who have experienced the toll that addiction takes on our physical\, mental and behavioral health as well as our familial relationships. Whether the compulsion is ours\, or someone we care about\, the negative impact of being dependent on alcohol\, drugs\, gambling\, food\, technology and/or other elements is worth exploring\, and the long and complex journey of healing is worth celebrating.\n\n\n\nThe exhibit runs from Thurs. July 7   Fri. Aug. 19\, 2022 with an opening event from 5-7PM on July 7th.\n\nSubmissions due June 24th via: https://bit.ly/WS2022RecoveryArt\n\n \n\nAlthough this exhibit does not aspire to solve the systemic failures and public stigma associated with addictive behaviors\, we aim to create a hospitable space for those in the midst of its trauma or having already come through the other side\, to share their story through art and conversation.
