Description
Join our Lawmakers in a Discussion over CT’s proposed Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Leading the discussion will be:
Sen. Steve Cassano, Rep. Jeff Currey, Rep. Jason Rojas, Rep. Henry Genga, Rep. Jill Barry, Rep. Jason Ducette. Sen. Saud Anwar
Two versions of the Family Medical Leave Act requiring every employee to contribute to the Family Medical Leave Trust Fund cleared a second committee this week.
When, not if, a bill passes, it COULD result in the following:- Apply to all employers of 1+ full or PT
- 100% pay up to $1000/week up to 12 weeks every year
- .5% payroll deduction to fund it (48 employees fund 1 person's leave)
- Employee determines if they need FMLA - no longer needs to be immediate family member
- Their position must remain available
Several lawmakers meeting with us on April 25 have concerns about the bills as written and it is critical that they hear from business owners immediately!
This is a very casual exchange of ideas, it’s a great opportunity to engage in our legislative process to protect your business. Will you be there?
