    Under general direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation, responsible for the development, planning and coordination of programs and services offered to Glastonbury residents, age 50 and above, and adults with disabilities.

    Full-time position -  
    Salary range: $72,364.50 - $97,656.00 / year

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  

    1. Ensures a respectful and safe work environment for all by fostering a culture of mutual respect, accountability for ethical behavior and positive leadership, aligning policies, procedures and training with such values.  Sets high professional and customer service standards for staff and ensures accountability with those standards. 
    2. Supervises the daily activities of assigned staff; provides performance feedback both formally and informally. Ensures training on and enforces compliance with best practices for safe work practices, with attention to risk management and loss control.  Administers policies and procedures.
    3. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow, evaluating and standardizing procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Maintains records of senior services activity and completes related reports. 
    4. Working cooperatively with seniors and adults with disabilities, community organizations and Town departments, assesses current client/population needs, and identifies trending/emerging service needs. Develops short- and long-term strategies to address these needs through program development, public education, and outreach.
    5. Leads design and development of services and programs, and supervises coordination and implementation of same. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and services in relation to stated goals, and revises accordingly. Engages with seniors and adults with disabilities to determine the value and effectiveness of specific programs and services. 
    6. Supervises coordination and implementation of programs and services, including, but not limited to a large volunteer staff, ride service, meal service, occupational and recreational programs.
    7. Directs activities related to promoting and publicizing the services and programs within the community; pursues public relations opportunities that engender good will toward and promotion of the Riverfront Community Center. Serves as an ambassador to seniors and adults with disabilities to connect them with Senior Center programs and services; and helps connect them to other services as needed.
    8. Drafts annual division budget; assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds and personnel; monitors revenues and expenditures. Identifies, pursues and supports fundraising efforts; prepares grant proposals. Oversees the collection and accounting center fees and charges.
    9. Oversees the building and facility needs to ensure the safety, accessibility, and convenience for participants, employees, and volunteers working in the facility.
    10. Serves as liaison to the Commission on Aging.
