• Hartford Symphony Orchestra announces 2023-2024 POPS! Series

    Hartford Symphony Orchestra President & CEO Steve Collins and HSO Music Director Carolyn Kuan are thrilled to announce the 2023-2024 POPS! Series, to take place in Mortensen Hall at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, CT. 

    The 2023-2024 POPS! Series offers thrills, chills, adventure, magic, and awe-inspiring talent! Under the outstanding leadership of HSO Music Director Carolyn Kuan, audiences will be dazzled by concerts featuring a spooktacular celebration, celebrated movie score, music from a video game phenomenon, and the return of Connecticut’s favorite family holiday tradition.

    Tales of Halloween

    This Halloween, take a trip through the world of spooky folklore alongside the Hartford Symphony Orchestra! The Bushnell transforms into a spooktacular theater with spellbinding decorations, festive activities, and tons of tricks and treats!  Conductor John Jesensky leads the HSO through thrilling musical favorites from the concert hall and silver screen as well as his own composition “Tales of Halloween,” accompanied by interactive illustrations and text by Connecticut visual artists.     Holiday Cirque!

    Holiday Cirque Spectacular returns! There is no better way to celebrate the season than with the magical music of the holidays performed by the HSO, set to astonishing feats by members of the renowned Cirque de la Symphonie.  Watch these amazing aerialists, contortionist, and gymnasts tumble, soar and dance on and above the stage all while the HSO plays your festive favorites!  

    Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY

    The Hartford Symphony Orchestra performs the music of FINAL FANTASY with a full chorus, led by Grammy Award-winner Arnie Roth. Experience this sensational multimedia concert featuring the beloved music of Nobuo Uematsu and more! With HD video from game developers SQUARE ENIX projected onto giant screens throughout the concerts, Distant Worlds performs a diverse and constantly expanding repertoire of classic FINAL FANTASY music from throughout the 35+ years of the game series. 

    Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince™ in Concert

    Relive the magic of year six in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ in Concert. With this film, based on the sixth installment of the classic saga, fans of all ages can now experience the thrilling tale of Harry’s obsession with a mysterious potions book accompanied by the music of a live symphony orchestra as Harry soars across the big screen in HD!
