Ryan Parker will Emcee an interactive evening of spoken word artistry, painting, dance and music featuring local artists whose work will inspire each other and excite the audience to be part of this safe space for people to come together for a shared experience of expression and encouragement. Artists include: • Carin Bernard - Painter • Chris Johnson - Poet/Musician • Danyela Rivera - Poet • Erin Ortega - Poet • Jakob Lopez – Poet/Musician • Justis Lopez - Poet/DJ • Linda Blakesley - Poet • K. Foxx - Dancer • Nadia Sims - Poet • Soraya Chanterelle - Poet • Steve Fitzgerald - Jazz Artist • Traé Brooks - Painter • Xander Paige - Poet “There has been no time more important than now to create space for art to bloom,” says Ryan Parker. “We need to bring community together, create safe and brave spaces for shared experiences that center our humanity and provide platforms for the most marginalized to be amplified and celebrated. I am honored to be able to collaborate with so many phenomenal local artists, bringing them together to engage in a potluck of artistry!” The Art-Blend Experience is part of a calendar of programs that accompany the ART OF PRIDE, an art exhibit that has been on display in the Main Street & Loop Galleries at WORK_SPACE since May 6 and runs through June 30. The show includes 54 paintings, photography, collage, fiber and multi-media work created by 23 artists from 18 cities in 3 states. The exhibit and events reflect and celebrate LGBTQ+ pride and resilience while encouraging and sometimes challenging the audience to contemplate what it means to live as authentic and uncompromised selves.
