Art, Wine & Horses Event at Priam Vineyards to Support CT Draft Horse Rescue
Priam Vineyards will host an “Art, Wine & Horses” event to support Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue on Sunday, Oct. 11 from 11am to 6pm. The event is an invitational art show featuring talented, award-winning artists. Proceeds from the art sales will directly support the rescue horses of CT Draft Horse Rescue! One or two of the rescue horses will be onsite for you to meet! Food and drink will be available for purchase, including Priam Vineyards’ award-winning wine and a delicious menu from Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ food truck offering a wide selection of wood smoked, Kansas City-styled barbecue with sauces and sides. CDHR is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of neglected or abused draft horses as well as draft horses heading to slaughter. CDHR is run completely by volunteers, so 100% of the funds raised through events like this go directly to support and care for the CDHR horses. If you would like to learn more about this event or the efforts of the CDHR volunteers visit www.facebook.com/ctdraftrescue. Priam Vineyards is on the Connecticut Wine Trail at 11 Shailor Hill Road off Route 149 in Colchester. It is a completely solar-powered winery and sustainable vineyard nestled in the Salmon River Watershed area and has been declared a nature conservation area by the World Wildlife Federation. Priam is the first winery in New England to be Vegan Certified by the BevVeg organization, and in 2020 the vineyard was again named Connecticut Winery of the Year at the International Wine Competition. The International Award-Winning wines Priam Vineyards has produced are estate grown, blended, bottled and cellared on premises. The vineyard is a popular site for weddings and corporate events, and a year-round getaway for wine tastings, concerts, family outings, and picnics. For more information visit www.priam-vineyards.com.
