    DESCRIPTION: Cuatro Puntos String Quartet will be joined by Persian santur master Dr. Dariush Saghafi and Iranian-American composer Reza Vali. Get lost in a soundscape foreign from Western musical traditions as Dr. Saghafi performs a traditional improvised solo on santur, then hear two traditions merge as the Cuatro Puntos String Quartet and Dr. Saghafi perform Dr. Vali's compositions. PROGRAM: -Introduction by Dr. Reza Vali, Carnegie Melon University -Traditional Persian Improvised Santur Solo (Ashoob mode) (15 min) - Dr. Dariush Saghafi -Reza Vali: Calligraphy #14 in Ashoob Mode (8 min) - Dr. Dariush Saghafi & Resident Musicians of Cuatro Puntos -Reza Vali: String Quartet No. 4, Ormavi (26 min) - Resident Musicians of Cuatro Puntos. ADDITIONAL VENUE DETAILS: Fine Arts Instructional Center- Auditorium/ Park in Shakespeare Parking Garage and walk straight toward High Street. Enter "Fine Arts Instructional Center" and follow signs to "Auditorium".
