• Chelsea Groton Announces Two Promotions on Bank’s Leadership Team

    GROTON, Conn. – Chelsea Groton Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of two team members. Kate Allingham, Senior Vice President, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, and Kate Alves, First Vice President, Credit Department Manager, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer.

    Kate Allingham  
     Kate began her career at the Bank in 1999 as a Customer Service Representative. Her dedication and versatility soon led her to roles in the Financial Services and Marketing Departments. Drawn to new challenges, she joined the Risk and Compliance team as Compliance Officer in 2008, where she steadily took on more responsibility and leadership. Over the years, Kate advanced to Risk and Compliance Manager in 2012, then to Assistant Director in 2016, Director in 2020, Senior Vice President in 2022, and ultimately Chief Risk and Compliance Officer in 2023. 
     
    She graduated from Wellesley College and later pursued further education at the Connecticut School of Finance and Management, the American Bankers Association’s National, Intermediate, and Graduate Schools of Risk and Compliance Management, as well as the ABA’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Beyond her professional commitments, Kate serves as President and Treasurer of Preston Public. 
     
    Kate Alves  
    Kate joined Chelsea Groton in 2005 in the Loan Servicing Department. In 2006, she transitioned to the Risk Management Department. Kate moved to the Credit Department in 2008 as a Junior Credit Analyst. Since, she has been promoted to Credit Analyst in 2009, Senior Credit Analyst in 2010, and Credit Department Manager in 2012. 
     
    Kate is a graduate of Merrimack College and the Connecticut School of Finance and Management. In addition, Kate completed the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Leadership Program. Kate has received several awards, including Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce's Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty in 2014 and was named a Connecticut Banker’s Association (CBA) New Leader in Banking in 2015. Kate serves as Secretary for the Southeastern Regional Action Council.
