Glastonbury, Conn., February 12, 2026 – Recently, the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce, located in Glastonbury, Conn., received a $15,000 grant supporting its small business energy efficiency outreach within East Hartford.

The grant was made available by the sponsors of Energize Connecticut℠, Eversource and Avangrid subsidiary Connecticut Natural Gas, as part of the Community Partnership Initiative’s (the Partnership) third round of funding.

“This grant allows us to directly support East Hartford’s small business community by connecting them with practical, cost-saving energy efficiency solutions,” said Jessica Olander, President of the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce. “By enrolling businesses in the Small Business Energy Advantage program, we are helping them reduce energy costs while strengthening the local economy.  We are grateful to the Sponsors of Energize Connecticut for investing in our small businesses and our community.”

With this grant, the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce is looking to enroll its small business community in East Hartford Small Business Energy Advantage. Upon enrolling in the energy efficiency program, an Eversource-approved contractor will provide guidance and recommendations on appropriate energy efficiency technologies and methods to maximize program incentives and energy savings.

“I want to thank the Connecticut River Valley Chamber for their partnership and commitment to East Hartford businesses. By bringing these valuable resources, tools, and funding opportunities to our community, this partnership illustrates the power and impact of what happens when municipalities and chambers of commerce work together: business wins,” stated East Hartford Mayor Connor Martin.

To make energy efficiency affordable and accessible to all, the Partnership strives to provide local community groups, nonprofit organizations and municipalities with grants to promote energy efficiency adoption and educate residents and businesses on energy efficiency solutions available to them. Seventeen entities, including nonprofits, municipalities and chambers of commerce, were selected to participate in the third round of funding, bringing the total to 42 grants awarded, directly impacting more than 25 Connecticut communities.

Participants in the program are strongly encouraged to contact the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce early in their projects to maximize planning efficiency as well as available incentives.
