Preserve Your Family History This Holiday Season at Free CSG Event
The Connecticut Society of Genealogists (CSG) invites the public to a special Family Memories Day on November 9, 2025, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the East Hartford Public Library, located at 840 Main Street.

This free event offers families a unique opportunity to digitally preserve precious photos, documents, and family papers just in time for the holidays. CSG volunteers will be on hand to help attendees scan their materials, and each participant will receive a complimentary flash drive to save their digitized memories.

"Family stories are the threads that connect us across generations, and the holiday season is the perfect time to gather and share those stories," said Jenny Hawran of CSG. "We want to help families preserve these memories so they can be passed down and enjoyed. A piece of family history is a pretty great gift to someone."

The event is a collaborative effort between CSG and the East Hartford Public Library to make genealogical resources more accessible to the community.

"We're thrilled to partner with the East Hartford Public Library for this event," Hawran added. "The library has been wonderful to work with, and together we can reach more families who want to preserve their heritage."

Registration is suggested through the East Hartford Public Library website at https://easthartfordct.libcal.com/event/15028827. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos, letters, certificates, and other family documents they want to preserve.
